Protea Burgundy Nipple
A hybrid protea with a neat, compact habit that develops into a nice, rounded shrub. It produces attractive flowers of candy-pink bracts with a burgundy flower mass and a pronounced centre. Flowering is over a long period from late autumn to spring. An excellent Protea for a smaller garden. Although shorter stemmed, the flowers are excellent for picking. Grows approximately 1.2 x 1.2m.
An adaptable Protea that will grow in most well drained, acidic soils in an open, sunny position. Water deeply during prolonged periods of drought while young. Tolerant to light frosts and suitable for coastal conditions. Prune back after flowering.
