Banksia spinulosa – Banksia Birthday Candles
This dwarf plant grows well in the garden or in containers. Growing to a compact size of 50cm. It thrives and flowers profusely in sub-tropical or temperate climates.
Prefers slightly acidic, well drained clay and sandy loam soils, or a low phosphorus, free draining potting mix when grown in containers. Fertilise in early spring and again in late summer with controlled release low phosphorus fertiliser. Trim after flowering to shape and promote new growth.
