Strelitzia reginae (Orange Bird of Paradise)

Clumping perennial with large, blueish-grey leaves. Striking orange and blue flowers, resembling exotic birds, are displayed on tall stems throughout the warmer months. Ideal for large pots and adding a tropical touch to the garden or patio. Flowers and leaves are good for use in cut arrangements. Grows approximately 1.5 x 1.5m.

Prefers fertile, well drained soil in full sun, with some protection from harsh summer heat. Keep moist in summer and drier in winter. Protect from heavy frost.
