Flowers of dark reddish-purple with a black dorsal blotch and spotting in flat trusses of 12 flowers. Late season flowering. New foliage growth is maroon, fading to dark green. 1.8m.

A sunny position with part shade is ideal. Plant in well drained, moist, acidic soil. Keep well watered through hot, dry periods. Mulching is beneficial. Fertilise with acid food spring through autumn.
