$69.99
Prunus x ‘Accolade’ (Flowering Cherry)
A cross between Prunus sargentii and Prunus subhirtella. This outstanding cherry has masses of semi-double, frilled, rich pink blooms in pendulous clusters in early spring. Early-spring flowering. Forms a nice, medium-sized, vase-shaped specimen tree with spreading branches. Excellent street tree. Yellow and orange autumn leaves. Grows approximately 6m high x 5m wide in 10 years.
Plant in full sun. Flowering Cherries are generally hardy but should be planted in a sheltered site to prolong the flowering period. Protect from strong winds. Don’t allow them to dry out during hot dry periods. Stake well until established.
Grafted at a 1.2m standard. This means the plant has a 1.2m tall trunk before it begins branching out.
