Prunus salicina – Plum ‘Santa Rosa’

The Queen of all plums! It is among the highest flavoured plums in the world. Medium to large purple skinned fruit with yellow tinged pink, juicy, tangy flesh. Japanese variety. Used to make blush wine in Japan. Early to mid season – harvest January. Self fertile but benefits from cross pollination by Omega or Duff Early Jewel. Grows approximately 5m high x 3m wide.

Full sun position with well drained soil. Frost hardy. Protect from wind to promote a better yield. Fertilise in spring and summer. Benefits from mulch.
