A popular, tough plant that will take the full brunt of coastal salt wind. Thick, leathery, grey-green leaves with a light white fuzz. Attractive, dark red-purple flowers that attract the birds. Upright, rounded form, shrubby trees. Grows approximately 3m high x 2m wide in 10 years, ultimately larger. Plant 1 plant per metre for hedging.
Quick and easy to grow in sun or shade. Prefers well drained soils. Hardy and tolerant of drought and wind.
