Hydrangea paniculata Diamond
Hydrangea paniculata ‘Diamond Rouge’
Has the reddest flowers of all Hydrangea paniculata varieties. Strong stems bear very large heads of white flowers. These flowers gradually turn pink and as summer moves to autumn, they become a spectacular, deep red. Long flowering period through summer and autumn. Bushy habit, growing to approximately 1.5m high x 1.2m wide. Deciduous. Ideal as a feature specimen for small gardens, to brighten courtyards and excellent in decorative containers.
Suits a position in full sun to part shade with some protection from harsh summer sun. Hydrangeas prefer a moist but well drained soil, benefiting from regular watering in summer and mulching. Avoid watering the flowers and leaves. Feed in spring for optimum results. Remove spent flower heads and prune after flowering finishes.
