$57.99

Pyrus communis ‘Louise Bonne Jersey’ (European Pear)

Medium-sized fruit with attractive, smooth, red-bronze flushed, green skin. Delicious, aromatic and richly flavoured with juicy, buttery-textured flesh. Dessert quality. Early season; harvest March-April.

Partially self-fertile but it is recommended to pollinate with Pears ‘Williams bon Chretian,’ ‘Conference,’ ‘Winter Nelis,’ or Nashis. Pear trees are excellent for espalier training. Vigorous and upright growth habit. On dwarfing rootstock; grows approximately 2-3m high.

Requires a full sun position for best fruit development. Pears are deep rooted and will grow in most soil types. Tolerant of wet soils in the summer, though not in winter. Pears grow well in cooler areas with mild summers but ‘Winter Nelis’ is a variety that performs well in warmer areas. Shelter from wind and protect new growth from spring frosts.
