Magnolia stellata ‘Jane Platt’ (Star Magnolia)

Forms a compact, densely-branched, spreading tree. Deep-pink buds open to frilly flowers of white with pink undersides. Very pretty and desirable. Early-spring flowering. Flowers from an early age. Grows approximately 2m high x 2m wide.

Full sun position with rich, moist, well drained soil that doesn’t dry out in summer. Benefits from mulch and regular feeding. Magnolias need to be sheltered from strong winds and frost in spring, where this can damage flowers and new growth.
