Lagunaria patersonii (Primrose Tree, Norfolk Island Hibiscus)

Handsome erect and stately pyramidal-growing tree. Clothed with leathery, olive-green leaves. The tree is covered in a profusion of showy, miniature, pink, hibiscus-shaped flowers with golden stamens through summer and autumn. Excellent as a dense screen or hedge, clips well. Evergreen. Grows approximately 6m high x 3m wide in 10 years.

Prefers a sunny site, will tolerate some frost once established. Very tough, enduring coastal winds and drought. Easy care, though avoid touching the seed pods as they can irritate the skin.
