A very popular, quaint, South African shrub with small leaves. In winter, masses of purple-red flowers smother the plant. Excellent, compact habit. Ideal for borders and mass planting, to provide dramatic winter colour. Grows approximately 1 x 1m at full size.
Full sun to part shade. Grow in well drained, acidic soils that are free of lime and animal manures. Keep well watered in summer, drier in winter. Frost tolerant once established. Mulch well. Prune after flowering.
