Beautiful, deep maroon red, medium, loose, peony flowers with golden stamens are produced mid to late season in early winter to mid spring. The small, single flowers are perfectly regular in shape with petals widest at their tip. Glowing red with an occasional overtone of orange. Vigorous, compact, upright bush. Magnificent flowering evergreen, suitable for general gardens, containers, espalier or bonsai. Ideal for screening and can be closely clipped. Height of 2.5m x 2m.

Plant in cool, moist, lime-free soil. Camellias are quite hardy, happy in full sun or part shade. Avoid planting in frosty and windy areas. Apply acidic fertiliser, compost and/or peat moss to improve pH of soil. Mulch roots in summer to keep cool and retain moisture.
