Camellia japonica ‘Volunteer’

Large, ruffled, anemone-form blooms of soft pink edged in white. Very floriferous blooms from late winter through a long flowering season. Colours will deepen to a rich pink until late blooms of a primarily red shade. Evergreen with quite dark foliage on a compact shrub growing approximately 2m high x 1.5m wide. Ideal for screens, hedging and large containers.

Provide a sunny or partly shaded position in well drained, slightly acidic soil. Mix soil through with organic matter for best results. Protect from strong winds. Keep moist in especially hot, dry weather and mulch to keep roots cool. Can be lightly trimmed in spring.
