Prolific producer of tasty, large, glossy black fruit in summer (Feb-March) on canes produced the year before. Attractive, small, soft pink flowers fade to white and precede fruit on erect, thornless canes. Tolerates heat. Deciduous with beautiful, dark autumn colours. Self-fertile. Grows approximately 2m high x 2m wide.
Perfect to be eaten straight off the plant, chilled for later use in desserts, or turned into jams and jellies, juice, or wine. Blackberries are rich in vitamin C and dietary fibre and contain calcium, phosphorus, and potassium.
Plant in well drained soil rich in organic matter with a support frame to keep brambles off the ground. Mulch after planting to protect and support the healthy growth of the plant’s shallow, fibrous root system. Provide full sun. Frost tolerant. Prune in winter when the plant is dormant. Fertilise early spring.
