Deciduous Azalea. ‘Red Rag’ is the deepest red Azalea on the market. Flowering in large, rounded trusses of single, lightly frilled, blood-red blooms. Growing in an upright form to approximately 1.2m.
Prefers full sun but will grow well in partly shaded positions. Requires well-draining, rich, acidic soil. Fully hardy and tolerant to frosts. Water regularly during hot and dry periods. Fertilise in spring with acid fertiliser and mulch with organic material. Prune for shape if needed, and deadhead old buds to encourage new growth next season.
