Decorative bamboo-like shrub with elegant, reddish, cane-like stems, leaves turning green to purplish-red and orange with the seasons. Masses of scarlet-red berries held in large pyramidal panicles above the foliage, winter to spring. Slowly suckers to form a dense clump. Evergreen. Grows approximately 1.5m high x 1m wide.

Hardy for most sites. Full sun to part shade in well drained soil. Drought tolerant. Tolerates very harsh frosts.
