School Vege Challenge 2023

Getting Going

Here at St Anne’s Catholic School, we have a group of committed and focused students who are working together to tend our vegetable garden. This year, our curriculum focus is linked to taking care of our earth and being responsible guardians through our integrated school project of ‘Kaitiakitanga’. The veggie growing competition is a great opportunity for our students to practice their skills when it comes to showing aroha to our environment. We have a gardening ‘team’ who are rostered on to tending the garden for morning and afternoon sessions.

The students are having a good time so far. Long may it continue- we have already lost our broccoli to insects that ate away at the leaves, so that was disappointing!
