Getting Going

As the newest Enviroschool in the Whanganui area we are embarking on a new strategic plan that ensures our school educates children in sustainability and how to grow their own food. Any support to do that such as the School Vege Challenge is immensely appreciated. Our children are outdoor kids, and are motivated to get dirty and in the garden.

The garden and planting has been an amazing success and, apart from the fact that we have been away from school for a couple of weeks with sickness, they are growing beautifully. We had Whanau come in and model the planting and the children put the gardens together by themselves – this was a test of their resilience and problem solving skills.
