Viburnum x burkwoodii (Burkwood Viburnum)
A lovely, medium-sized, semi-evergreen hybrid Viburnum with glossy foliage. Leaves have a felted, brown-grey underside. Some of the foliage will become brightly coloured, in red and yellow tones before falling in autumn. The flowers start to appear in spring from pink buds that mature into fragrant, white, ball-shaped blooms. A great shrub for informal hedges or mixed shrubberies. Grows approximately 3m high x 2m wide at full size. Prunes well to size and can be kept at 1.5 x 1m.
Select a sunny to lightly shaded location with well draining soil. Prune after flowering to maintain compact growth. Fertilise in spring and mulch well to suppress weeds and conserve moisture.
