Sophora macrocarpa ‘Sun King’ (Kowhai)

‘Sun King’ produces an abundance of rich, yellow Kowhai flowers in early spring that provide excellent contract to the attractive, glossy, dark foliage. Vigorously growing evergreen which is noted for being bushier, hardier and an earlier flowering that other Sophoras. Grows approximately 3 x 3m in 10 years.

Grows in full sun or light shade. Happiest in free draining soil that does not dry out completely in summer and is rich in organic matter. Frost tolerant. Generally easy care, if required a light prune can be done during the winter.
