Sophora molloyi ‘Dragon’s Gold’ (Dwarf Kowhai)
Excellent, compact, bushy cultivar with small, ovular, bright silvery-green leaflets. Possesses the classic brilliant, golden-yellow Kowhai flowers winter through to early summer. Tui, Bellbird and Woodpigeon are all greatly attracted to the kowhai as a source of nectar. Semi-evergreen, as is known to drop foliage in especially cold areas. Grows approximately 2m high x 1.5m wide. Reliable and easy to grow.
Sun or part shade. Tolerates most soil types including loam, sand and clay, wet or dry. Suitable for coastal conditions as tolerates wind and salt.
