Prunus yedoensis ‘Awanui’ (Yoshino Cherry)
Graceful, upright tree with arching branches. In early-spring, becomes smothered with almond-scented, blush-white, single blossoms. Spectacular in full flower. Orange-red autumn leaves. Excellent street tree. Grows approximately 6m high x 5m wide in 10 years.
Plant in full sun. Flowering Cherries are generally hardy but should be planted in a sheltered site to prolong the flowering period. Don’t allow them to dry out during hot dry periods. Stake well until established.
