Portugal Laurel. A small evergreen tree which is highly valued for the dark glossy green leaves and red stems. Looks wonderful as a formal hedge. Panicles of small, white, scented flowers appear in summer and are followed by small reddish fruits that turn purple. An excellent subject to prune into any shape, form, and size. Easy to grow. Grows approximately 5m high x 4m wide in 10 years. Responds well to pruning and can be cut to size.
Full sun in well drained soil. Drought tolerant. Suitable for coastal conditions. Frost hardy.
