A semi-spreading shrub which produces mid-size Protea flowers. The flowering bracts are deep red and topped with a luxurious black tuft. Flowering can occur almost all year round with peak flowering being from autumn to spring. Ideal for picking as a cut flower. Grows approximately 1.5 x 1.5m.

An adaptable Protea that will grow in most well drained, acidic soils in an open, sunny position. Water deeply during prolonged periods of drought while young. Tolerant to light frosts and suitable for coastal conditions. Prune back after flowering.
