Pieris ryukyuensis ‘Temple Bells’ (Lily of the Valley Shrub)
Evergreen. A superb shrub, slow-growing and erect. New leaf growth commences lustrous green, flushed apricot bronze, deepening to emerald green in summer. Showy clusters of waxy, ivory-white blooms cover the shrub in spring. A desirable form for mixed borders, entryways, etc. Grows approximately 1.5m tall x 1m wide.
These shrubs prefer acidic soil and dappled shade but will tolerate full sun provided the roots are kept moist. Little pruning is required other than occasional branch tipping or removal of spent flower heads. Frost tolerant.
