Phormium tenax ‘Sundowner’ (Flax, Harakeke)

‘Sundowner’ is a vigorous grower with broad, erect, cream leaves with dull purple midrib and pink edges. Flower stems will appear in summer and will attract birds to your garden. Will grow approximately 1.8m high x 1.5m wide.

Hardy and tolerant of just about all garden conditions. Full sun to part shade. Performs best in damp, well drained soils with mulch in summer to keep roots cool, but will tolerate other conditions including wet soils. Suitable for windy and coastal conditions. Frost hardy.
