A vigorous, attractive, ornamental tree with a round-top habit. Large, glossy green leaves turning to beautiful autumn foliage of red, orange, and yellow. Grows approximately 5m high x 4m wide in 10 years.

‘Fuyu’ is the most popular variety for fruit which is non-astringent. Produces orange-coloured, sweet, crisp fruit which looks like a tomato. Ripens May-June. Self-fertile.

Full sun in a warm, sheltered position. Benefits from regular feeding and mulching in rich, well drained soil. Frost hardy while dormant, but does require frost protection for new growth in spring.
