Pentapterygium serpens (Himalayan Lantern)

Forms a loose shrub with long, arching stems. Small, narrow, glossy green foliage lines the stems with new growth having a brilliant orange-red tone. Grows up to approximately 1 x 1m. Bright red, tubular flowers are suspended along each stem during summer. Great in pots or large hanging baskets.

Plant in semi shade with moist, well drained, acidic soil. Fairly drought tolerant once established. Does well in cooler climates, but does require protection from frost.
