Passionfruit Black Beauty – Passiflora edulis

Stunning evergreen vine with shiny, deep green leaves and a vibrant display of attractive mauve and white flowers in summer. Roundish, dark purple fruit with golden-orange, juicy, aromatic pulp in autumn. Great grown over a fence. Stunning on a pergola where the large, green leaves provide shade all year. Self fertile.

Passionfruit are heavy feedings during the growing season. Feed with a good quality fruit fertiliser in spring and again in summer. Plant in a warm, frost free position in full sun. Fruit is formed on current season’s wood so prune in spring to encourage new fruiting growth.
