Metrosideros collina ‘Fiji Fire’ (Pōhutukawa)

Dense, small, evergreen tree with vivid copper-red new growth which ultimately matures out to glossy, dark green foliage. Bright orange-red flowers develop through summer for continued contrast. Very attractive to native, nectar-feeding birds. Makes a lovely hedge or screen. Grows approximately 3m high x 2m wide in 10 years.

Full sun position, though tolerates part shade. Very tough and hardy. Tolerant of all soil types including both wet and dry conditions. Frost hardy and suitable for coastal conditions.
