Sometimes known as the ‘New Zealand Christmas Tree’ due to the profusion of glowing crimson-red flowers over summer against thick, evergreen foliage. Wonderful tree for native, nectar-feeding birds. Large, broad-headed, spreading tree with green foliage that has silver undersides. Plant where you want it to truly fill in a space. Reaching an approximate size of 8 x 8m in 10 years, and up to about 15m high x 10m wide in 20 years.

Full sun to part shade. Very tough and hardy. Tolerant of all soil types including both wet and dry conditions. Frost hardy and suitable for coastal conditions. Tender when young.
