Sophora tetraptera – Weeping Kowhai

New Zealand’s National flower. During flowering it is a favourite of the Tui and other nectar-feeding birds. Graceful with decorative, fern-like foliage and a spring canopy of golden-yellow flowers, the Kowhai is ideal for a corner in a smaller garden or specimen plant in a larger one. Also suitable for bonsai as well as a beautiful pot plant.

Spreading tree up to 10m tall. Grows in most well drained soils.
