Leucadendron Jack Harre
A delicate, smaller, evergreen, fine-foliaged shrub. The slender stems bear attractive yellow bracts that go through colour changes to pink through early autumn to late winter. Compact growth to 1.2m.
It is a reasonably hardy plant that likes an open, sunny position in acidic, light, well drained soils. Once established it is quite drought hardy and tolerant to moderate frosts. Ensure newly planted plants receive a deep weekly watering during the first summer and during prolonged periods of drought to help get established. Suitable for coastal conditions. Prune back late spring to size and shape to enhance growth and flowering the following year.
