Leptospermum Nanum Huia
Manuka. One of the compact, dwarf growing Manukas with darker tipped, mid-green foliage covered in pale pink flowers from early winter through spring. Huia is suitable for the front of a border garden, providing masses of colour through the duller winter months. Height to 75cm by width of 50cm.
Great for attracting bees and to provide last winter and early spring colour at a time when the garden needs a lift. Leptospermums grow well in New Zealand conditions which other plants may struggle coping well with clay soils, frost, coastal conditions and other extremes.
Grows best in full sun and will tolerate dry conditions once established. Hardy to frost and poor soils. Apart from an annual trim after flowering to keep bushy and compact, Manuka are an easy plant to grow and maintain.
