Manuka. A compact, dark red foliaged shrub smothered in bright, two-toned pink flowers in winter. A very hardy plant for middle border planting. Height of 1m with a spread of 60cm.

Great for attracting bees and to provide last winter and early spring colour at a time when the garden needs a lift. Leptospermums grow well in New Zealand conditions which other plants may struggle coping well with clay soils, frost, coastal conditions and other extremes.

Grows best in full sun and will tolerate dry conditions once established. Hardy to frost and poor soils. Apart from an annual trim after flowering to keep bushy and compact, Manuka are an easy plant to grow and maintain.
