Cymbopogon citratus – Lemongrass ‘Lemonkist’
Tall, densely tufted, aromatic clumping stalks. Arching leaves of pale blue-green colour to 1m long. Semi-hardy perennial that goes dormant in winter. Foliage is cut before fully mature. The tender white part of the stalk is used for adding to dishes, the remainder can be used for stocks, dried or a cup of tea.
Grows in sun or part shade with well drained soil. Adequate moisture keeps grass fresh and well flavoured. Can be grown in pots but grows stronger in the ground. Protect from winds and frost. Harvest by trimming or pulling from the ground.
