A vigorous large shrub which produces masses of scarlet red flowers borne both terminally and within the bush from mid winter to summer. Sporadic flowering can occur throughout the year. Robin Hood is a striking shrub for any coastal garden and makes an excellent hedge or screen plant. Flowers are brilliant for floral use. Attractive to nectar drinking birds. Size to 3 x 2m.
Hardy and reliable. Best in a full sun position with well drained, acidic soil. Good for subtropical and warm, temperate climates. Drought tolerant once established. Suitable for coastal conditions. Frost tolerant to -4°C. Prune after flowering to maintain compact growth habit.
