Gordonia axillaris (Fried Egg Tree)
A small tree, very similar to a camellia with dark green, leathery leaves. Flowers are large, white with yellow centre, resembling that of a fried egg, from autumn through spring. Versatile use as a hedging plant or specimen tree. Grows approximately 3 x 3m in 10 years.
Full sun to part shade in well drained soil that is kept regularly watered. Not drought tolerant. Wind and cold hardy.
