‘Red Delicious’ is a conical/heart-shaped fruit with striking, bright red skin that is sometimes striped. The flesh is crunchy and very juicy with a mild, sweet flavour. Harvest March. Cross-pollinate with a mid-flowering variety such as ‘Gala,’ ‘Granny Smith,’ ‘Golden Delicious,’ ‘Monty’s Surprise,’ or others. Grows approximately 3m high x 2m wide.

Plant in a sunny, sheltered spot in free draining soil prepared with organic matter. Requires staking for support. Water frequently while young, during long, dry periods and while the fruit is developing. Frost tolerant while dormant but protect fresh buds from spring frosts.
