Cornus stolonifera ‘Flaviramea’ (Golden-Twig Dogwood)

Valued for the thicket of bright yellow stems that look their best when bare in winter. Young shoots are yellow to olive green with a flush of attractive, mid-green foliage coming in spring. Late spring flower clusters are small and white, followed by small, white, berry-like fruit. Slow growing, deciduous. Has a tidy, upright form which can grow up to 3m high x 2m wide. Trims well to a smaller size.

Full sun or a position with afternoon shade in the summer. Prefers rich, moist, well drained, acidic soils. ‘Flaviramea’ is quite tolerant of very wet growing conditions, making it quite adaptable to most garden settings. It is recommended to cut back right to the ground every few years to promote fresh growth.
