Lime – Finger Lime, Caviar Citrus

A prickly, Australian rainforest shrub with tiny leaves and large thorns. Delicious, finger-like fruit in shades of green with tart, round, juicy vesicles inside like bubbles. Enjoy fresh, or serve as a side/garnish to seafood, sushi, pasta or desserts. Can be used in jams and marmalades. The lime skin is also edible, particularly when dried and used as a condiment. Grows approximately 4m high x 3m wide and trims well to a smaller size.

Requires a position in full sun or light shade. Soil should be well draining but with adequate moisture provided during fruit development. Tolerates light frost and winds. Heavy feeders, benefiting from a regular dressing of fertiliser and mulch every 3 months.
