Citrus Lemon Meyer PB8

$39.99

A beautiful evergreen tree that produces glossy green leaves and fragrant, creamy white blossoms. Much less thorny than other citrus. A popular home variety which performs well in pots. Can grow approximately 3-4m tall in 10 years if left unpruned.

A hybrid citrus from lemon and orange lineage. Prolific fruiting lemon with medium-sized, sweet, very juicy fruit with less acidity than other, true lemon varieties. Thin skin with a very zesty flavour. Main crop is ripe during winter and into spring, but generally fruits sporadically all year round. Self fertile.

The most cold hardy lemon variety, making it one of the best home varieties for a wide range of climates. Protect from frosts while young, more tolerant once established and when mulched well. Good heat resistance. Ideal in a full sun position with fertile, well drained soil. Heavy feeder requiring a high nitrogen fertiliser through spring and summer. Water regularly during fruit development in hot, dry spells. Prune in spring.
