Camellia japonica ‘Takanini’

Medium-sized, dark plum-red, semi-double blooms of an anemone form. Exceptionally long flowering season from early winter to late spring. Evergreen shrub with strong, upright growth, growing approximately 2m tall x 1.2m wide. Thick, glossy, dark green foliage. Ideal for screens, hedging, large containers and espalier.

Provide a sunny or partly shaded position in well drained, slightly acidic soil. Mix soil through with organic matter for best results. Protect from strong winds. Keep moist in especially hot, dry weather and mulch to keep roots cool. Can be lightly trimmed in spring.
