Attractive, aromatic herb, ornamental as well as culinary. Dark green, glossy leaves. Small, cream, waxy flowers followed by blue/black berries in autumn. Can be structured into topiary shapes, grown as a hedge, in a container or stand alone foliage plant. Hardy, evergreen tree forms a round top, spreading form to 15m high x 6m wide. Unlikely to reach this size if trimmed regularly. Slow grower.
Full sun to part shade. Well drained soil with good moisture over spring and summer. Mulching is beneficial. Frost and salt spray tolerant out of direct wind.
