Deciduous Azalea. ‘Barbecue’ produces ball-shaped clusters of double, soft salmon-pink flowers with pale pink and cream markings and an orange flare. Mid-season flowering. Grows approximately 1.2m.

Prefers full sun but will grow well in partly shaded positions. Requires well-draining, rich, acidic soil. Fully hardy and tolerant to frosts. Water regularly during hot and dry periods. Fertilise in spring with acid fertiliser and mulch with organic material. Prune for shape if needed, and deadhead old buds to encourage new growth next season.
