NZ apple variety originating from a very old tree in the Manawatu. Reliable cropper with large, crisp fruit, good for cooking, juicing, or eating when tree-ripened. Shiny, red striping over a light green skin. Mid to late season ripening, approximately May. Vigorous, disease-hardy tree. Self-fertile but produces better yields with cross pollination. Grows approximately 3-4m tall.

Prefers full sun and fertile, well-drained soil. Benefits from a deep, weekly watering during hot, dry spells. Tolerates poor and clay soils. Frost tolerant.
