Prunus amygdalus (Almond) ‘Monovale’

Monovale produces hard-shell nuts with good flavour. Due to their strong flavour this variety can be used for Marzipan. A heavy cropper and good pollinator. Harvest March-April. Disease hardy variety. Vigorous grower.

Excellent ornamental qualities, with masses of small, white blossoms with pink eyes in early spring. Grows approximately 4m high x 3m wide in 10 years.

Full sun in well drained soil. Tolerant of a wide range of soils, except heavy and poorly drained. Keep sheltered from strong winds. Frost hardy when dormant. Protect spring buds and flowers from spring frosts.
