Acer palmatum ‘Shaina’ (Japanese Maple)

A beautiful, upright, dwarf grower that makes an excellent container subject. Dense, compact, and erect growth habit. Bright-red new leaves mature into a maroon colour. Intense-red autumn leaves. Easily trained into a ball shape. The ‘Shaina’ is a compact and small tree that holds onto autumn leaves later than most Acers. Grows approximately 2m high x 1m wide in 10 years.

Suitable for a full sun to part shade position with protection from blistering afternoon sun. Perfect in sheltered spots, protect from hot, dry and coastal wind. Plant in fertile, moist, well drained soil.
