Acer palmatum ‘Red Emperor’ (Japanese Maple)

A superb selection with large, rich burgundy-purple leaves that glow intense red with sunlight shining through them. Holds the deep colour right through the summer. Autumn tones are extraordinary vibrant in scarlet. An upright growing, strong, vigorous tree developing a broad, rounded crown with maturity. Grows approximately 5m tall.

Suitable for a full sun to part shade position with protection from blistering afternoon sun. Perfect in sheltered spots, protect from hot, dry and coastal wind. Plant in fertile, moist, well drained soil.
